Not With Corruptible
1Peter 1 : 23

Though the "uncorruptible God" does as Job said bring the clean from the unclean and does use many unclean and corruptible instruments in doing so, He does not in the essentials of our redemption, regeneration and calling use that which is corrupt. In redeeming His people and paying the ransom price required before His law, He does so redeem by that which is pure. "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold...but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." (I Pet.18,19) In regenerating His people and giving them the life of God He does not use their corrupt human nature, will, works, etc. They are made "partakers of the divine nature" being "born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (I Pet. 1:23) Whether this be the Incarnate Word or the Spirit using the written word; neither is corruptible. But the same principle applies in the matter of calling His sheep. God uses the incorruptible gospel. Paul says to the Corinthians, "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him (put up with it easily enough -Amp.). Paul feared this corruption of the gospel by which it became no gospel. He said, "We are not as the many, which corrupt the word of God." I cannot imagine why anyone would defend or justify the profession of any who were supposedly converted under the preaching of a god who is not sovereign, electing, predestinating and of unfailing purpose in salvation; a jesus whose work is universal and not particular and a spirit whose work was diligent but not successful. This is not the "gospel of the glorious God!" It denies the claims of His law, makes a mockery of His justice, reduces to sub-man His power, violates His attributes and dishonors His Son. Of his own will begat he us with the word of TRUTH!
